Learning from one another!
Every Thursday, two lovely teachers and several students from St Nicholas Diocesan School in Pietermaritzburg visit West Street home to assist our children with homework and to play!
This interaction gives our children time with adults and older children from different walks of life; people who are kind and who want to support the children’s journey, encouraging them to think broadly about education and job possibilities.
The St Nicholas family learn much from our children too! It’s a beautiful time for both parties to be exposed to new ideas, insights and ways of being in the world.
Health Care Support!
At our West Street home, we have partnered with Boom Street Clinic to assist in caring for the health and wellbeing of our children.
A registered nursing sister visits us monthly to monitor the children, especially those living with HIV.
The nursing sister and care staff discuss key issues such as nutrition, safety and managing adolescent sexual reproductive health.
